My surgery scheduler sucks !

Recommended Posts

I've been approved for over 2 weeks , and I'm trying to get my surgery date , but I have the surgery scheduler from hell ! She acts as though scheduling my surgery is not within her job description ! Idk what to do I really wanted to have my surgery before my 25th birthday but the chances of that happening are looking pretty scarce .

I've had such a great experience with everyone else in that clinic but this lady has a stick up her butt or something ....I'm thinking of going to the office manager or walking into the clinic to schedule .... U can't ignore me if I'm right in your face ...RIGHT ? I digress !

I had issues with my surgeon's office staff. A Med assistant called me and told me I would have to have an "EGD with a specialist or I could just opt to have a bypass" like it was no big deal. Threw me for a loop, I had no desire for a bypass and thought my WLS option was over. I ended up calling a GI doc on my own and a week before my GI appt the office manager from my surgeon's office called to tell me all of my preop stuff was about done and wanted to know when I wanted to schedule my sleeve! I told her what had transpired about a month before and she was livid. She said no one should've ever told me that save for my surgeon or his NP. Then I had one more instance with a message not being delivered to the nutritionist and I was done! I spoke again to the office manager and that's how I ended up with direct numbers to the Office manager and nutritionists offices. Please call and ask for the office manager, hear how they stammer. I even work at this trauma center and kept thinking how the hell do they treat other folks? Now they roll out the red carpet when I have an appt! Sometimes Dr's don't know they have an office issue unless someone tells them. You could save someone else some grief down the line.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
