Probably shouldn't have...

But I weighed myself today (2days post-op) and the scale says I gained 6lbs since right before surgery. I'm hoping this is Water weight from all the fluids I was giving in the hospital

I also have a low grade fever...99.3 has anyone else experienced this? Per my surgeons office, I only need to call if my temp is 101 or higher.

Take the batteries out of your scale and put them in the closet. Theres no way youve gained fat, you haven't eaten anything. weigh the next time you go to the dr.

First, do NOT stress the Wright gain. Your body is recovering and you just spent days in the hospital being pumped with fluids. I came home from the hospital 6 lbs heavier too. I also had a low grade temp for a day a few days out of surgery. I just took it easy upped my Water a bit, and had the liquid codeine/Tylenol meds and I was good. I had my first post opp appointment today and told my dr I had a low grade fever. He said it's nothing to worry about. It's just your body healing itself. Take it easy and lay off the scale if it's going to discourage you!

And probably not too abnormal running a low grade fever. just watch it and follow up with your dr if it falls into the range thats listed on your discharge papers.

Low grade fever is normal right after a surgery your body is in overdrive healing itself.

I like the suggestion to take the batteries out of your scale. I have my husband put our scale in the safe and hide the key lol

I noticed the same thing I am 5 pounds heavier than the morning of my surgery. I have been assured not to worry. I've been checking my temp and haven't had one yet but it is the same with my surgeon, 101 or higher.

The weight gain is from all the fluids the pump you with to keep you hydrated while in hospital. No worries, it will all drop off pretty fast. Your healing.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
