June 18th here! I am super excited. I don't even feel nervous but anxious and ready to be there having it done. I am not a very patient person though. 7 more weeks!

I'm scheduled for June 30th. I'm still going through the insurance process though. I have to do psych eval, nutritionist, a class. All the things are scheduled in May. I'm nervous but I'm so happy that I'm making this change! Im thinking that I should start buying some food items now??? wish you luck.

June 6th here. Am glad I have more time since my diet still isn't where I want it to be and am working on it but am also getting increasingly anxious/nervous about it, which I know is normal.

Surgery set for May 9.

I'm definately feeling the nerves! Today was day 8 on the pre-op liquid diet. I ain't gonna lie, it's hard.... doable BUT hard! Having little ones to care after and feed make it that much harder. I don't even want to go into the kitchen, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

1st week: 2 Protein shakes and 1 small meal 700-800 cal per day.

2nd week: 3 Protein Shakes along with sf Jello, pudding, slim milk, sf popsicles..etc keep under 800 cal.

I'm so excited to see how everyone is doing. May 9th can't get here soon enough!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
