MrsLucas got a reaction from drac2you in 2 years out and struggling.
    Hello All.
I had my gastric sleeve surgery on June 16, 2016. I lost about 25lbs the first month and then suffered the loss of my father who was my best friend.
After I lost my dad I ceased losing weight. I mourned the loss of him for quite some time...I still do really. For at least the first year after losing him I was in a horrible depressed state and didn't follow the rules of how I should eat post sleeve. I was eating until I felt sick, eating unhealthy foods and drinking (not alcohol) my calories.
Finally after a year I figured out how to live day by day without him and started feeling happy and positive again. I started following the rules and being super vigilant with my health. I dropped 40 lbs in two months! Whoa. Then, after those two months of excellent weight loss I found out my husband and I were expecting. I went to my first sonogram excited and two seconds with the wand on my belly she told me it was twins! I was instantly excited as twins run in my family (I am the aunt to two sets of twin boys from the same mother.) After the excitement wore off I feared the pending weight gain.
I told myself I was going to watch what I ate and not give into wild pregnancy cravings. I lied to myself. I gained 68lbs total through the pregnancy. After giving birth I lost an initial 37lbs the first two days postpartum. Then another 10lbs the following week. I have been stuck at 48 total lbs lost for months now but I also haven't been following the rules of how I should eat post sleeve again.
It's time to get my butt in gear. Anyone else a couple years out starting over? I am just looking for tips and possibly success stories for motivation!

    HELP!

    Thanks Matt Z!
I was kind of thinking the same. I already did somewhat of a reset for the last few days and feel some restriction coming back. I've been doing a shake for breakfast, low carb egg drop soup for lunch, tons of water and for dinner is baked chicken and some type of vegetable. I forgot how much chicken fills my sleeve up!

I am going to see if I can find my paper work to see what my food plan for post surgery was. I am pretty sure remember it.

Even if you can't find your original, *ANY* online pre-op for sleeve diet should be sufficient to get you where you need to go.

@MrsLucas sorry for your loss. You can just start over. Pretend you didn't have the surgery and start off with a pre-op diet, then transition though the stages the same way you didn't when you originally had the surgery. It can be challenging, but it's a great way to hit the reset button and get back on track.

    Good luck!

    Leaving Las Vegas.
On Saturday we dressed up for a night on the town, just like we do every year. Only this year over the course of the evening men and women complimented me on my cocktail dress or told me I looked beautiful.
What was more amazing was I FELT beautiful. I felt like I could smile graciously and accept their compliments with confidence.
Not because I was the thinnest woman in the room or the most lovely but because I am fighting hard for who I am. I fight hard for mental, spiritual, and physical wholeness and health. I feel strong. I feel wise. I feel beautiful.
I feel like for the first time in two decades my outside is starting to match the inside.
I am more proud of that than the number on the scale any day.
Small decisions lead to big changes in a year.

I haven't posted in several months but I wanted to post an update to my Gastric Sleeve story.
My surgery was July 12, 2013. I am 5'8" tall and at that time I weighed 296 lbs., and wore a size 3X or 22-24 women's.
Today, April 12, 2014, is 9 months from my surgery and I've lost 76 lbs. At 220 lbs., I fit in size 1X or 16 women's.
I would like to lose between 40 and 60 lbs. more by September of this year. My ultimate goal would be 147 lbs - a size 10. However, I will feel totally successful and satisfied to get to 170 lbs - a size 12.
I lost nearly every bit of my weight the first four months after surgery and have been at 220 lbs. since then.
I am enjoying this new weight and all that it has done for me.
I no longer have to use a CPAP for obstructive sleep apnea. I have no more heel or foot pain, very little knee pain, almost no more back pain. I have no more acid reflux. Even more good news is that I like looking in the mirror again. I can shop in normal size clothing stores. I am not embarrassed when I go out with my family and friends. I get very encouraging comments from people who have watched me go through this process.
I do sometimes get frustrated that I'm not losing any more weight currently, however, I am most often optimistic that I will continue to both enjoy my current good health as well as moving forward to meet my weight loss goals. Slowly but surely.
I can eat nearly anything - in small amounts. I have to be careful with milk (makes my tummy hurt), so I use unsweetened almond/coconut milk for my Protein or fruit smoothies if I need the extra boost. I avoid most sugary foods (thank goodness I wasn't really all that much of a fan of sugary foods before). I also still have to work to make sure I get the protein I need each day and have to consciously monitor my Water intake. I make my meals of high quality protein, fresh vegetables either raw or steamed or baked, and if I have any room, I'll eat some carbohydrates like whole wheat bread/grain, brown rice, potatoes, corn, Beans, peas, etc. I allow myself a small piece of chocolate once in a while. I can have a cocktail every other month or so when my hubby and I go out to eat.
I exercise sporadically and I know I need to work on this area. I walk and I use an elliptical machine up to 3 times a week.
I have the opportunity to encourage others in my life who are contemplating weight loss surgery and I never mind sharing my story.
I certainly feel super glad that I have this lifelong tool to help me work on my health and fitness!!!
