PB Any advise????

Recommended Posts

I pb'd last night and then I had the burps forever. Usually after I burp quite a bit the uncomfortableness goes away. Not this time, when I drink Water or anything cold I have a uncomfortable feeling for a bit. Hot stuff is not to bad but something feels different. Could I have hurt something in there? Do you think I am just sore from the pb'ing. I still felt kinda of uncomfortable this morning and then I pb'd again after drinking some water. I have done liquids all day today and I am afraid to put anything in there. Is it possible to just be sore from the pb'ing that I did. Or could something be stuck? I had my first fill 4 weeks ago and I have pb'd a couple of times but I have never felt like this. I burp so much it is unreal. Anytime I drink or eat anything I burp non stop. Last night it lasted longer than it ever has and now I feel this soreness. Any advise? I have always burped a lot since my surgery but it has gotten worse since my fill. Anyone else had this happen?

For some reason I've done the same thing with the air and pain after my second fill. It did pass for me. The air hung around for a while and was a pain to deal with. I still burp at the most inconvienient times.

Kathy,

I hope you're beginning to feel better by now. It is normal to be a bit sore a day or so after a pretty strong pb, but if this feeling continues and you continue to be uncomfortable. You might want to have your doc do an Upper GI just to make sure everything is where it should be. Do you feel like you may be overfilled at all?

I also have been dealing with air issues. I dunno if I swallow more air than I should (and how to avoid that), or if my stomach acid is producing it or what. If there's air in there, I feel really uncomfortable when I eat until it comes up. I had 3 bites of my lunch yesterday and knew I'd pb if I had anymore. I waited like a half an hour, and then had a few burps (fortunately I was in the car by myself!), and I felt better after a couple of minutes as things started to settle better. At first I thought my fill was too tight, but seeing how I feel better after the air comes up, I know that's what it is now. Now I just have to figure out what to do about it...

Thanks for all the advise, I am feeling a little better now. I still have some uncomfortableness at times.

Leatha I was thinking that I might be a little too filled also but it is different all the time. I guess that is why they say this band is a fickle thing. I know that I am losing really good I can really feel it.

I was just concered that I may have hurt something when I pb'd. Is it posible that my fill kicked in tighter after 4 weeks? Haven't heard of that but maybe someone else has. Marimu I feel the same way just trying to figure out how to deal with this gas, air burping all the time. Lisa everyone I work with knows that I am banded and I tell them before we even start to eat, thank god I can hold the lower end but burping no way can't hold back. It is just a automatic I eat, I burp. Any suggestions how how to help avoid this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again everyone, have a great Turkey Day!!!

Kathy,

4 weeks after my first fill I had more restriction then 1 week post fill.

Not sure why.

I remember that 6 weeks after my fill I had a very strong pb and it took around 4 hours for my food to pass. It was nearly 3 days later that my stomach soreness finally went away.

And that was 6 weeks later!!!!! So yes, in MY situation, I had more restriction a few weeks later rather then right at first.

Paula thanks so much for posting. I am almost sure that I had exactly what you had. It took about 3 days for it to let up. I am feeling much better, strange things these bands. But I love it, wouldn't want to be without it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
