Anyone else scheduled for April 21st?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm scheduled April 20, in Tucson, AZ. My doc didn't put me on a diet prior. Confused as to why some people are and others aren't. I feel the same way as you. I'm excited but scared at the same time. I really love food but I don't like how I feel and look. I just keep telling myself I need to do this and I can do it and I'll be ok.

I am scheduled for the 20th. The reason for the diet is number 1 to prepare your mind for the liquid diet after the surgery, and number 2 the previous surgery diet helps shrink your liver so that there is less interference from your liver.

Yep I'm on the same roller coaster.... but I've come too far to back out now! As a matter of fact my surgery date came from someone's cancellation.

There really is no pain just some soreness. The hardest part is head hunger. But I remind myself it's only temporary and I also always keep the next stage in mind to look forward to. There is no real hunger. It's also a struggle with the liquid diet....and not in the way you might think. It's difficult trying to get the required amount down. I started placing an alarm on my phone to remind me to drink Protein, eat Breakfast and so forth. That was the best approach for me. Feeling very tired. Just taking a shower made me feel like I ran a marathon. But making sure to take my Vitamins and stick to the plan I'm slowly getting better. I did the dishes for the first time today, but I think I'm gonna milk that with my 16 year olds xD! I'm feeling much like a newbie myself but the best advice I find helpful is to remind yourself why you did it and know that each phase is only temporary. Good luck and God bless your journey! ;D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
