Came home yesterday feeling ok. Just a little pain. Not taking pain meds. It's just the pulling when you get up or down. Struggling to get in the fluids. But I'm walking too.

My surgery was May 20th. It is a struggle with liquids right now, but I'm managing at least 50 oz.

one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

Hi all,

I had my surgery on 13th. Still take my pain meds, not as often but I still need them for the incisions where I had my lap band port removed lots of pain when moving around.

Struggling with Water intake as well, found out the cause of my pain after drinking is that somehow I swallow air and it creates air bubble inside which gives me pain, really slows down my water intake and not sure how to make that stop. I am following all instructions by my dr and hoping once swelling goes away this issue will go away as well. They told me I am seem to be healing slower than most so will see how it goes when I start blended food on Friday hopefully I will be able to tolerate it.

Thanks for sharing I felt like I was taking too much while everyone else was ok a few days out. I started my day with just Tylenol today mostly because I need to get out and about. Sadly not able to make it very far I was so tired after a trip to the post office.

I know what you mean, my husband and I went out to do an errand today and I was exhausted. It's sad but I feel like the only way I can function right now pain-wise is with the liquid meds, it's such a relief when they kick in but they also put me to sleep. I am trying crushed tramadol tomorrow and see how that will work because regular liquid Tylenol didn't do much (and I had a hard time getting it down even diluted)

I am glad I am not the only one as well:) I actually had a very hard time emotionally the other day because I felt like I should be feeling better by now and it seems I am not making that much progress.

Goal tomorrow to really work on my water intake... I feel thirsty I really want some nice ice cold glass of watt but can't drink. The cold stuff right now and feel like warm liquids don't take care of my thirst as much...

Hopefully one day soon :)

What are you struggling with besides energy and pain?

What are you struggling with besides energy and pain?

Every day has been a struggle with just being. I live alone and so I've been home alone pretty much since I got home from the hospital. I'm pretty certain I'm not getting in enough fluids. Every time I have a Protein Shake I get diarrhea. I haven't had the energy to go to the store to try something else. Walmart sell a liquid form of extra strength Tylenol.

Okay so I feel super lightheaded and dizzy. I am 4 days post op, and my doctor has me on only clear liquid no Protein until Thursday. I am going crazy. I want to walk, but every time I stand I feel dizzy and lightheaded. :/

one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

@ChooChi Try something with electrolytes and drink alot. Can you have broth? I found a chicken stock with 9gms Protein.< /p>

I can have broth, even though I loath it now. Lol... I think I'll try to get propel fitness that's sugar free. What brand chicken stock do you have? Mine only has 2g protein.

one step at a time, one sip at a time, one pound at a time.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
