Ok, i get sleepy a couple times a day and take a nap. Still on pain meds just for pain in abdoman muscles. It is important to get up and walk around so blood clots don't form

I've never had experience with anesthesia.. Most nervous about that! Awesome you're getting up and around and able to reduce pain meds. I'm ready for the 13th to get here already so I can be on the side you're on! :)

Hey Monie and Breezy and other aprl 4th ers. How are you? Bit of a time difference, but my sleeve was a success and they found a hernia and fixed it. Shoulder pain at first, less now, couldbe because of drugs. One nuse told me preopto drink lots of Water to plump up veins, so i drank a litre 6 hours before but this apparently was not right and they may have had to put back my op time. On the good side, they got the needle into mt tiny veins. I was scared witless preop aned used meditation breathing technique just focussingon breath. Avoided tv news and watch look of acquarium fis to calm down. All good now, and so the journey begins. Hope you all have smooth op and recovery.

Today is day one of my 10 day liquid diet. Surgery is scheduled for April 14 (next thursday). I am almost at the end of my first day on the liquid diet, and I think I'm going to just go to bed, lol. I can have broths or bullion, sugar free liquids like popsicles, Jello, crystal light, even coffee with sugar free cream, etc. I can also have high Protein low carb Meal Replacement shakes. Today I have had a bit of a variety of what is "allowed" and like everyone else, I am less than satisfied. I have seen posts and other info that says that after the first three days, it seems to be less of an issue. One thing that I have found to be a little more satisfying than broth is the ramen noodle flavor packet in 2 cups of boiling Water. No noodles of course :( but it seems to go down a little easier. Has anyone else found anything that seemed to sit better than others? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
