Got my new Fitbit Charge HR

Recommended Posts

I'm so excited! I finally got a Fitbit Charge HR yesterday! Anyone want to do a day step challenge for tomorrow, starting at midnight? Or one for the weekend? :D

The question of the day: Is it waterproof? Can you wear it swimming?

It is Water resistant (sweat, rain and splash proof). But not swim proof or showerproof. I think they do make other types that can be worn while swimming.

I'm looking at it as motivation to just get moving. I'm pretty certain I won't be winning any myself, just thought it'd be fun!

My family surprised me with one right before my surgery. I love the security of knowing my heart rate while exercising and the fact it links to my phone and tracking app.

@@nicksmommy

Send us one for this weekend. Next week we can do the work week hustle, I like that one too.

The other challenges I've joined fill up fast, so if your not right on it, then you loose out.

@@Daveo you might surprise yourself. Some of the people in the challenges I've done have as low as 2 - 3K per day step goal. When we do the goal day challenge and they finish their steps, they've completed the challenge. It's not about winning or loosing.

You should try one, if you don't like it, just decline.

I will set a weekend up one right now too! I have mine set up at 10k, but only cause it was a "standard goal" that my dr recommended. I think I will give it a week and lower it if I don't feel up to that much just yet. It's a good feeling just to be movitated to move it! I might not be ready for 10k just yet, but I can assure you that just by having this on me, I have more steps than I did 3 days ago. I love it.

Count me in!

I just ordered a UP2 from Jawbone Activity that will be here today.

ETA: I won't be able to link with Fitbit but will totally do the challenge. This will help motivate me to get up and moving as I normally sit on my butt on the weekends. :)

I just found my Fitbit last night, after it went missing since last September! I'm wearing it again, but I'm definitely not in a place to do a challenge (yet). But it's nice to know there are folks here I can do challenges with when I'm ready!

Oh I really don't care about winning or losing a challenge, I know it is all in fun and motivation for everyone to get moving. I said I'd lose because I'm currently working extra hours and not getting my walking/steps in like I should. Next week after I'm done with this extra work I'm down for participating!

Yep!! I didn't "win" the first challenge I participated in yesterday, but it still pushed me to make my step goal for the day. I did that and that made me happy! It was fun and our group of peeps were so nice and supportive!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
