Hunger pains turn into gas pains

I have had my band since 2012. I don't know if anyone else has this issue, please let me know if it may not be normal. When I actually get hungery and my stomach growls I have to eat something within 10 to 15 or it turns into server gas pains. It is agonizing until I get something on my stomach. After I eat a little something the gas will "work it's way out" so to say. This has been like this for a about a year. Does anyone else have this issue?
