Hey girl how are you doing, we got our bands the same day, I was hoping to compare some symptons. I am feeling pretty good most of the day but I have this bloated feeling that does not go away. My incision itch & I am just not hungry. Mentally I want to eat but I am not hungry I do my broth & sip my Water & waiting for the bloating to go away. Let me know how you are doing?

Pug - you can do it! Just be strong! Try to drink lots of Water in between too, that is supposedly supposed to help you stay "full" too! Good luck! I will start my liquid diet on Tuesday - not dr ordered. Hubby and I have a "date" night next Friday! We haven't been out in so long! It will be a nice break from kids and a nice break from the liquid diet. It is getting so close! I can just "feel" it! LOL

Teresa - there are a lot of surgeries that were done on the 7th - names are butterfly17, ghostbuster, natie716, allisarin, mdicurn, mermaidpuppy, cin, the brick - that might help you to get to know them better. There were quite a few of you 7th bandsters! Congrats on your band! Glad to hear that you are doing ok too!

hey there, I'm totally feeling your pain, after some long naps though, I'm starting to feel like I'm turning a corner. The nausea is going away and I'm feel like walking around a little more. Keep hanging in there, I've scrolled through the before and after pics a few times today already to remind myself why I went through this! What I can't even begin to think about now is going through surgery again for plastic surgery. ughhh.

Hi was banded yesterday. Everything went well despite weeks and months of worry before hand.

Surgery at 10am and up walking by 6pm. Apart from discomfort from gas (nurses gave me peppermint Water which was great) there is very little pain. Home today. Apart from a little tenderness everything is good. Good luck to all who are waiting

Maxine

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
