I was sleeved on 3/2 as well. I'm still at the hospital but I am being discharged this afternoon. I had a lot of trouble with gas for the last two days but I am feeling much better now. I'm slowly sipping broth, Water and Jello but I start to cramp easily. Popsicles are my easiest at the moment. I'm concerned about getting enough fluids without an IV, but I'm going to just keep sipping away!!!

How are you feeling since you've been home?

I'm feeling much better thanks! I didn't need the pain and cramping meds today. Energy levels go up and down and I'm still really bloated-but I'll take it!!????

So when is everyone's post op

Galley Girl

Walk!!!

I'm doing much better now! Yesterday was a good day and today I'm even better. Still have some moments of soreness. Worked from home yesterday and same today. I have an hour drive each way and I'm just not up for traffic and sitting in a car that long, plus we are having a pretty good thunderstorm right now and I don't want to risk an accident. I have been up walking and staying active. I'm a single mom of a 2 yr old so he keeps me busy. Got on the scale again and I've lost 7lbs! Yay! Ready for some full liquids tomorrow.

How's everyone doing? Just over one week post op! What are you eating and how do you feel?

I'm on full liquids now and I've noticed that I'm getting nauseous when I eat. I have my Soup in a small 4oz cup so I know I don't over eat. How long is it taking you to 'eat'?

I'm down 8lbs first week and doing much better. I really only get a spasm:pain if my sip is a little too big. It takes me an 45-60 min to drink Protein shakes and Decaf lattes. Teas and broth go down fast 15-30min. I bought a 50 oz Water bottle and sip that through the day. I make sure I finish it before bed. Flavor packets have really helped me get it down.

I live next to a lake so I've been walking 3 miles slowly every morning. My energy is still low so I usually have to take a nap by midday due to exhaustion.

Since I'm never really hungry, I'm working on setting aside time to eat meals slowly and get in my Protein. I did cheat last night and had some free popcorn at a movie theater( I lost the mind over matter battle). I asked for 1/2 of a kids size and chewed small bite fills until it was mushy. It tasted delicious but I know it was a bad choice. So I'll be sticking to liquids for one more week.

@galleygal-do you have anti nausea and spasm medication? It really helped me to take it a little before meals. The spasms will get better. Just keep your sips really small.

@@newmeme Yikes! popcorn is probably one of the worst things you could possibly cheat with this early out. The little shells from the kernels can get caught in the staple line and cause an absess. Hopefully no damage done, but be hyper vigilant if you start to experience any pain, report it to you surgeon immediately. And stay away from popcorn until at least 3 months out from now on!

@@newmeme You sound like you are doing great! That much walking really impresses me. I need to get more active. The popcorn might have been too much but I understand the craving and breaking down sometimes. I had a couple small spoons of ice cream last night to kill my sweet tooth, at least I didn't eat the whole pint! I'll start using my big Water bottle to measure how much I'm getting in. I know it's not enough right now.

I do have the anti nausea meds but I stopped taking them since the anesthesia didn't make me nauseous, I'll try taking it before I eat and see if that helps.

I've lost 10lbs so far and I'm ecstatic!

When is your post op appt?

Hello all,

Nine days post op and feeling really good this morning. Had a rough day yesterday, mid morning feeling weak and tired. Took it slow, resisted the urge to take a walk, naped a couple hours - and today I feel 100% better!!! You just got to listen to your body.

Tomorrow is our 2 week mark! How is everyone?

I'm today was the best day I've had! Im having some discomfort from the incisions drying up and itching but I actually had some energy today. My post op appointment is tomorrow morning and according to my scale I'm down 12 pounds. I'm very happy with that! Has anyone started mushy foods yet? I can start tomorrow and already have my lunch weighed and packed. I'm ready for something other than soup!

Hi, guys! I was also sleeved on the 2nd. It's been rough with nausea, but I think the worst is over. I had to go to the hospital because I was throwing up. I think dehydration was the culprit. They gave me fluids and ran some other tests just to make sure. Well, afterwards, I went for a little walk today and felt pretty good. Down 26.2lbs since surgery. Post op visit is coming up 3/17...

Happy 2 week surgiversary everyone!!! I'm doing pretty well. Down 16lbs since surgery day. My post op appointment is this Friday and I'm going to try and convince my doc to let me start working out. I have a few more weeks before I go back to work and want to maximize this time.

What was everyone's first "meal"? I had a poached egg over some marinara and a little cheese this morning. Delish!!!! My eyes are still bigger than my stomach so slow eating is the name of the game right now. I need to take a picture of my fridge bc I have one whole shelf of Jello, marinara, cottage cheese and greek yogurt lined up in little 2oz plastic containers.

How often is everyone weighing themselves? Did anyone take their measurements before surgery? I've been weighing myself everyday but I think I need to move to once a week so I don't go crazy if I start to stall. I took my measurements but have already decided to only check once a month.

Hope everyone is feeling well!!!

For all of you heading into Week 3, don't panic if you experience the dreaded Week 3 Stall. It is SUPER common for people to see a stall on the scale in the next week or two and it does NOT mean you are doing anything wrong. It does NOT mean you are failing. And it does NOT mean you've lost all the weight you are going to lose. Hang in there. Get your Protein, Water, and Vitamins in. And make sure you get up and move as often as possible!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
