I can't drink another protein shake

I feel your pain!

I posted something similar a few weeks ago and someone just said you need to treat it like medicine! So now I just power through even though they are vile!

Thanks Jenkins. I just went over my food for everyday and I can almost get it all in with my diet. Ugh I have tried every brand and every flavor. Wasted tons of money and I'm just so sick of them all.

I have made Protein mug cakes out of them, but it is still nasty, but it gives a nice alternative to drinking it. I occasionally get dumping syndrome from Protein shakes, so I am thinking to quit them all together. I am only 3 months post op, but if I am really careful, I can usually get 60+grams of Protein through food. A couple of months ago it would have been impossible without the shakes though. I feel your pain.

Have you tried the Syntrax Nectars mixed with Water? They have flavors like Lemonaid, strawberry Kiwi, Fuzzy Navel, etc... and are MUCH different than the Chocolate/Vanilla most Protein drinks come in. They are more like drinking Kool aid.

Thanks everyone. I have tried the syntax and am not a fan. I think I'm gonna try and get it all in with food. Cottage cheese is very high in Protein so that will be one of my go to foods. I also found protein chips at Vitamin store. Not great but barbque flavor is not bad

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
