lab band and pregnancy

Recommended Posts

just wondering to anyone who has the lap band if you have gone through pregnancy how was it with the lap band? I am terrified for the future when I'm ready to have a baby about having my lap band in. I'm mostly scared about my port because it's placed near my upper abs. I keep thinking how painful it will be when my stomach grows bigger and if the port site will hurt or cause a problem.

I had the band and was pregnant with it. I recently got revised to the sleeve but while I was preg I had the bad. It was perfectly fine. Didn't have a lot of saline in so I gained a lot of weight. My OB wanted me to get w fill but my old surgeon wouldn't do it and I didn't want it. Otherwise I didn't really feel anything weird bc of band.

I know when you become pregnant with the band they are supposed to remove all the saline fill but I'm more scared of pain where my port is like when the belly grows. I've read some things about people getting bruises there and having pain while pregnant so it makes me nervous but thank you

I just had a baby in November..I've had the band for 5 years now...pregnancy was fine...as my belly grew I had more restriction...I never removed any Fluid...I did have some pain on my left side late in pregnancy after eating dense foods...so I ate a lot of soft stuff..my port area did get sore near the end and really stuck out but not unbearable. ..however I did suffer bad heart burn and acid reflux that I'm still suffering with

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card ๐Ÿ
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours ๐Ÿ˜Žย and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, itโ€™s so bad Iโ€™m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. Iโ€™m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily,ย including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well. ย I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening. ย So far as of Jan 1st Iโ€™ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this?? ย Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.ย

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
