H. pylori positive after treatment

My doctor did an upper endoscopy on me a few months back. I was found to have the bacteria H. Pylori in my stomach. I was put on an antibiotics. (3 pills, twice a day) for two weeks. I had to wait 6 weeks after finishing the pills to do a new test (stool). It came back positive so I have to take a different antibiotic, (2 pills, four time a day) prior to the surgery (I was schedule for February 29th), now I have to wait until I finish the treatment, and check for the second test (4 weeks after finish the antibiotics) What if the second round doesn't work? Can I still do the surgery with a positive on the second test? Can I get denied the surgery if it's still there? What exactly does it do? I know a lot of people have it, but I just don't know much about it and how it can affect my surgery.

Pretty common to do two rounds of meds for it, it's nasty

Insurance won't deny you, but it's common for doctors to hold off on surgery until after you can provide a negative result.
