Just reminding everyone to drink their water!!! I thought I was doing perfectly fine, come to find out I was severely dehydrated :-/ on top of that for the 1st time in my life, I had a seizure. Thankfully I was already at the hospital when it happened so I was cared for by emergency staff swiftly. I hope to never go through something like that again

Oh my! I'm so glad you're OK. Have you had a seizure before? Was it solely from not drinking Water?

How are yall doing? I stalled for a while and I think it's cause my calorie intake was too low. I'm not being quite so strict on it now. Plus it helps that I found some AMAZING protien bars :)

I stalled also. I didn't know if it was from the Constipation issue but I have gone past both now. I discovered if I added a little more fat to my diet I became "regular" again. I went out for the first time last Wednesday with some friends and it was harder than I thought it would be. I love my Irish whiskey and beer, and not being able to have any for a while kinda kills me.

I think this is what has helped me. My diet has more fat than ever before and I'm regular too

Met with my nutritionist today (7.5 weeks out) for anyone that is curious i thought id share. she said she's thrilled with my progress and that I'm right on track.

On my high cardio days (I'm burning 300-600 just from cardio) to get my calorie count up to 900-1000 and on days I don't (weekends) to get close to 700-800. Otherwise she thinks my weight loss is perfect for my height. She said to stay in this calorie range during the losing phase, and that it really won't change much until after I hit goal and get to maintenance. So I'm okay to get comfortable in the 700-1000 calorie range for now.

She also said that at almost 2 months and with my cardio I'm doing she would like to see me get in closer to 80-90g of protien. Right now I'm getting about 70g. And she LOVES the fact that I'm getting 90+% of my protien from chicken/yogurt/nuts etc. She also said she thinks I will be able to reach 160lbs easily. After that the weightloss will get harder.

P.s. I'm currently doing about 1 hour of cardio per day (broken up into 3 segments) about 1/2 of it I'm running at a 6.5mph pace and the rest I'm walking at a 3.0-3.5mph pace on a 6% incline.

This is everything I'll eat today except for dinner. :)

I hate the protien shakes. 1 cup of greek yogurt has 15g of protien. 4 oz of chicken has 25g of protien. Combat protien bars 20g of protien. Thats 60 grams right there

Soooooo, Friday I woke up and my belly was so distended I looked pregnant! Went to see my surgeon and was informed that my gallbladder didn't like all the Protein I was eating. He recommended I incorporated leafy greens and more fat of all things. He told me to do a little cleanse for a day and I will be all good. All the bloating is gone.

Wow. So your being encouraged to eat veggies and less protien! Hopefully it doesn't get worse.

It didn't thank goodness! I mean I looked seven months pregnant. Lol he had me do a version of the preop colon cleanse and it helped a lot.

Same here, I still get full so fast that I can't get everything in as much as I try. Sometimes I feel like if I keep going I'll stretch my sleeve all out.

I typically get 55-65 oz of Water in, but today I've gotten in over 75oz and kept my food intake up! I feel like I've finally got the hang of this!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
