Special K protien water?

Recommended Posts

I am still in my first week and wondering about the special k protien Water drink. It is really low in cal but offers protien. It is none carbonated and I think it will give me more energy...what do you all think?

My only hang up with Special K Protein Water is that it has "partially hydrogenated oils" (ie transfat) in it??? In fact, many of their products do.... which is really frustrating coming from a company that claims to be for the health conscious.

I have not been banded yet, but I am supposed to start my pre-op diet tomorrow and will eventually be in the same place as you! BUT rather than ingest partially hydrogenated oils I plan to look into some other alternatives listed on this site previously:

Profect Protein & beneprotein

If you search around there are others as well!

My problem with the Water was the attrocious taste. If it gets even a little warm it tastes gross. The Lemon is the best but even if can get nasty tasting if it gets warm.

But it did keep the hunger away so I forced myself to drink it. lol

I attend a support group meeting a couple of months ago. The nutritionist introduced us to STACKER 2 Protein Water. It is a 20 oz. bottle of Water with 20 GRAMS of Protein and 0 suger with only 80 calories per bottle. She said that it also goes towards your daily intake of water... I think it is much better than the Special K Water.

We can purchase it here in Nevada at Raley's for about $1.50 each. Haven't seen it at Wal-Mart yet.

Yeah Special K Water is nasty...I was dissapointed. Not worth the calorie intact for the 4g of Protein. I'm gonna look into that other water..that seems cool!

I thought I'd copy and post what I wrote after my first couple of weeks.

My daily eating after being banded consisted of:

WATER: 64 oz of Water no matter what! I've gotten up in the middle of the night when I forgot to drink what I need.

3oz of oatmeal or cream of wheat grueled down with skim milk. I mix 15 grams of powdered vanilla Protein drink into it.

I drink a lot of tea with splenda and skim milk in it. It really helps sooth my stomach.

I drink 1 can of V8 per day, or blend my own cooked vege’s (carrots, green Beans, peas)

I like Isopure, Micellar Milk, Muscle Milk, or Profecta Protein drinks and sip it throughout the day, usually get about 40 grams this way.

My wife made me a big pot of split pea Soup and bean Soup – I Water

down 3 oz and it really fills me up. I’ll have this usually twice a day.

I will also have 3oz of low fat yogurt mixed with 10 grams of vanilla Protein Drink.

I religiously take my Vitamins, chewable C’s, Calcium, and multiples. The nutritionist scared me bad about hair loss!

For treats a sugar free popsicle

I ate 3 oz 5x per day and I feel full. The slower I eat the fuller I feel. Stay consistant in your eating or you will get hungry.

Hope this helps!!!

I've been drinking Isopure in the 20 oz clear glass bottles. They are fruit flavored, zero carbs, and 40 grams of Protein. As long as you drink them cold, they're pretty yummy. Two a day--voila--your Protein intake is complete!

I'm a little over two weeks post op and doing great. I've lost 15 lbs since surgery and am very happy about that.

Good luck everyone. Hang in there!:clap2:

Try Isopure. It is flavoured water with a whopping 40g of Protein per bottle. It is quite good and little to none fat, sugar & carbs. It was recommended by my clinic, and I like it so much I am going to keep drinking it from now on - it's a little more expensive than most water, but considering it has more protein than your typical Protein Shake, the $5/bottle is worth it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
