OMG - we really are sleeve buddies. I have a thread in another forum about the same thing. My surgery is also on Monday. Felt it coming on Wednesday and was definitely sick come Thursday. I'm waiting to hear from my case manager.

So, yes. I definitely feel like that! (Crossing my fingers for you.)

I'm trying to make myself feel better by telling myself I might have trouble getting down all the regular fluids plus the extra you should drink when you're sick. Not much, but anything to shore myself up should the news not be good.

Cold Eeze or zinc supplements have always cut a cold short for me.

I had the same problem, thought I was coming down with something about 4 days prior to my surgery. I dosed down on Emergence C and Vitamin C....I was fine so hopefully things are going to be fine for you as well - I can tell you that sneezing and coughing is VERY unpleasant right after surgery.

Definitely rest and get lots of fluid! I'd be careful taking any supplements or medicine. I was told at my pre-op meeting that the anesthesiologist wants us off everything for a week before surgery. My hospital/staff might just be ultra-conservative, but I wanted to pass this information along. Good Luck!

Me three! Surgery Monday morning and woke up w/a sore throat yesterday. Been gargling w/salt Water, taking Vitamin C, Emergen-C. Feel a little snifflely and sneezing. Maybe it's allergies? I need to rest and get liquids. Everything is set and I don't want to cancel or be cancelled!

Same thing happened to me 3 days before surgery -- see your PCP for a blood test to make sure you don't have an infection. If it's just a cold, take the extra strength Tylenol Cold and Flu. I felt 80% better the next day and 100% on day of surgery! I would also let your surgeon know ahead of time to see if he/she has any recommendations, especially if you have a fever.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
