Hello! Well, I never thought I would find myself back on these boards. I was banded 8/11/11 at 236lbs. I immediately without trying became 200. i then worked by butt off, literally…I trained harder than I ever thought I could. I began running and weight lifting, hardcore, I ran two half marathons and was on my way to a running a "tough mudder", my life was greater than i ever believe it could be. i went from highest weight ever 255 to a slim and fit 129. THEN…..I started having band troubles and without hesitation went to the dr for an unfill but a month later my band slipped and that was it. I lost my super powers lol

I then over the past two years have put on almost 60lbs. I can't run more than 4 miles now and I have succumbed to the realization that I need to have another bariatric surgery. So I am now scheduled for a sleeve on march 28th. Any words on wisdom or advice. I am now teetering around 190lbs and feel like I had the ultimate dream at my finger tips and lost it. I do still gym, my body is not as light and working out is harder because of the extra weight I have put on. I was hoping to lose on my own but no matter what Ive done I can't lose weight. Hoping the sleeve will help me lose some weight and turn my life back around. Thanks for any positive vibes, feedback or advice.

Cara :-)

I am also back after a 4 year absence. I am more determined than ever. I'll have my eye on you, girlfriend. Hope you will do the same for me.

Welcome back! :)

From what I read from other forum members, many people who have a lap band come back for revisions. You are not alone.

Been there done that, got the tshirt....only I was never that successful with the band and started having issues around year 2-3 timeframe.

Revised to sleeve 4 years ago, lost 150# been maintaining that for last 3 years.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
