I am post op four days from sleeve surgery I miss food!

Recommended Posts

My appointment went very well!! Promoted to cheese (yay! For this Wisconsin girl). And can move to pastas and more. I didn't think those would be allowed for a long time. Must keep telling myself to listen to what my body is telling me and not to push things. One quarter cup at a time!

Jennah pennycuff I found broths very comforting in the early days for warm and not sweet foods. Bariatric Pal has very tasty Protein foods, and I'm also pleased with their Vitamins. Just recommended them to my doctor's office.

Early on I ate things I liked before surgery that fit in the guidelines, like yogurt, cream of chicken Soup, (chicken pureed), idahoan instant mashed potatoes (several flavors) mixed thin, various flavors of soup, and baby food. There really is a lot of variety. Foods have tasted good, so that has not been an issue. Be patient, it all does come in good time.

I'm down 2 notches on my watchband, and my jeans are really baggy. Almost time for a trip to Goodwill for some transitional clothes.

Guess I should try on a pair of jeans or real pants and see how they fit. Question- have you had any issues with Constipation or did your dr start you on meds? Can't tell if this new discomfort is something to be worried about or if I just need to ????

Sounds like everyone is doing well. Glad to hear it I am one week post op and I feel great. I have no hunger and no desire for foods. However I am drinking my Powerade zero, Protein Soups and shakes, eating Jello and the popsicles and have no problems getting them down. The only pain I have is from when they had to lift me off the toilet the day after surgery. They had to call the PT and use one of those under the back shoulder belts, I think they pulled a muscle. I am even getting use to taking my lovenot injections. I see the Dr tomorrow for my 1 week follow up. I will probably do a blog entry after that visit.

Hi ..I live in pensylvania. .My bmi is currently 35.6 ..I have an appointment in two week for surgery consultation ...If anyone here wants to share how was their experience with the insurance approving their surgery ???? I have a history of asthma , it was chronic when I was a child but I kind of grew out of it and it's not as bad now ! But I have heard people say that insurance will not pay unless I have like a really bad illness that is life threatening. ....and some people say that asthma is not considered life threatening nor it falls under insurance coverage unless there's like a lot of medical history of at least 6 months with asthma ..does anyone know ? I have tried dieting pills , I've exercised , I'm just disgusted with my self at this point and I have no doubt that I want to have surgery done ..

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
