Abdominal Pain 3 Months Out from LGS

Hi everyone,

I had gastric sleeve on October 6th and thus far have lost 67 pounds. I feel fantastic with more energy and clothes are just falling off of me.

But I have a new problem...from time to time I get abdominal pain around the belly button and radiating all over the abdomen. It feels like gas pains, but I am able to pass gas and move my bowels. Last night it was unbearable and this morning it has eased up.

When I listen to my belly, I hear gurgling and I do feel like there are waves of movement across the belly. I also feel a hard lump near the belly button which makes me think I have a hernia.

I am keeping a food diary but the pain isn't associated with anything specific.

Does anyone have any advice about this? I am going to see my doctor but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue so far out.

Thanks.

It does sound like either a hernia or scar tissue. I would talk to your doctor.

HI all...just back from the doctor (actually the hospital) and it is a hernia with a small bowel obstruction. Will need surgery to correct. Everyone keep an eye out for things like this!!
