I'm at the soft food & purée stage at 3 weeks, but I'm terrified to try an egg!

A scrambled egg was the first thing I ate on the Puree stage and had no issue. I haven't dumped anything as of yet (fingers crossed). I am 5 weeks post op, so I haven't really eaten a whole lot either...

I also had eggs early on.. Even had egg salad, no issues. I had some Soup that didn't agree with me. That's it so far.

I have never dumped on anything. I had no problems with an egg once I was on softer solids.

Just eat VERY slowly. At the first sign of trouble, stop eating and wait at least 10 minutes before trying to eat any more.

At three weeks an egg should be no problem. My first egg was between soft and hard boiles and it was fine

I had my first egg yesterday at 15 days out and took my time and went down much easier than expected. My Nut just made said it had to be moist, not dry and it was yummy! Good luck and hope when you have one you have the same experience I did!

I've been eating eggs since the all liquid stage ended and never had a problem. Hard boil, scrambled and egg salad.. You won't know what agrees with you until you try it ????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
