@@ria122 How are you doing today? I had some pretty bad cramping whern I woke up this morning. I planned on going to work, but turns out I don't think I am there yet. 7 pounds gone as of this morning, so I am very encouraged. I am very thankful for my Protein Shakes, since that is the only thing that helps me feel better. Also, the acid feflux is pretty bad at times, what did you take for it? Can we use tums or Pepto Bismol?

@@candykerr7 wow 7 pounds that's amazing! I took Nexium and since then I haven't had that feeling at all.

@@ria122 Thanks! I will try that! I am very surprised as well about the weight loss, I am trying very hard to stick to the plan as outlined. Since I'm never hungry it hasn't been too hard. I have been doing some downward dog poses too, it seems to help shift the balloon just a bit to be more comfortable when it feels stuck high up under my ribs. Have you tried any "real" food yet? I had a couple ounces of pureed Soup on the last two days, but could only manage two ounces.

@@candykerr7 I've been having puréed Soups for the past few days without any problems. I'm really grateful to have gotten away without any negative side effects that I've read about. I think I could probably move on to soft foods by now but since I'm not really hungry I'm just sticking to the puréed soups.

Hi everyone, I am so shocked by the weight loss of 11 pounds, I'm not sure what to think. I am so weak though, I can't stand for very long without getting dizzy. It's worse in the morning I think because I haven't eaten all night and then I have to drink'

my Protein as quickly as I can to feel better. Without going too fast either, and getting sick. Last night I made a little refried Beans with a bit of cheese and sour cream. It was heaven, I gotta find a balance here with my protein though, this being so weak is for the birds! Have a great day guys!

Congrats an your loss!

This is exactly how I was the first two weeks and then off and on the next few weeks and less frequently this last month.

The more calories I eat the better I feel. But nothing sounded good or I felt too sick. I'm still trying to find balance. I'm two months out. Good luck!

HI all, I am 1 month post orbera balloon insertion. Lost about 10 pounds. It was very slow loss the first 2 weeks but picked up the last 10 days. My body needed to adjust I guess. I am having a hard time with nausea in the am (a threw up a lot this morning when I woke up...I didn't eat a lot last night, but it was spicier and cheesier than I have had in a month..Superbowl food) and the acid reflux is starting to get me down. I have it a lot. Almost every night. Its slightly better if I only have a liquid dinner...like Soup or a shake...but even a bowl of Cereal will start it up. My doctor has had me on omeprazole since a few weeks prior to insertion. But I don't think its doing any good. When I have anything even slightly spicy or minty, I feel my entire esophagus burning. I am thinking this can't be good. Seeing my doctor on Thursday and will ask if I should switch to something different.

Hi everyone, I haven't lost any weight since Friday, but I can eat most anything. I'm sure I'm eating too much but better food, and then feeling nauseous for hours. I have to

get a handle on the balance still.

I think because I always feel either nauseas or reflux, food has less and less appeal to me! I forced myself to eat an egg tonight.

We had to take my dad for back surgery so we went to Applebee's and I had Soup and salad, first time eating out but I ate too much (that was 5 hours ago) and I feel like I have a bowling ball in my stomach.

Oh I am sorry! Yup, that happens to me too. I hope you can sleep tonight!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
