Almost a year out and only lost 64lbs

What is your sugar grams like?

Is this really all the calories (you did say it was hard to log everything). If you are miss things your calorie count may be even higher

Yeah this is very discouraging as I'm only four months out and have stalled over a month but I'm not exercising daily and spent the last week consuming to much wine but I was stalling prior.

hello I'm 4 months post op and been stalled over a month next week on the 29th will be 2 months stalled , how much have you lost so far, I'm so discouraged

Try to reduce your carbs. They were the highest pie piece in your graph. I'm over a year out and still stay under 50g per day. For me, carb control was key to my weight loss. Sw 311 CW 151. 5'10

Protein-60 plus

Carbs-Max 60

Fat-Max 20

Calories-700

My nut doesn't take calories into account. (I thought 'That is crazy!') Only Protein, carbs and fat. I read that you eat fruit everyday? How much fruit? In my our class we learned that's a big source of carbs that will kick you out of ketosis or fat burning. We were told to eat berries if we really wanted fruit. Other foods to steer away from were root veggies like potato and carrots, corn is a no no, as is onion. Its all about the makeup of the food. I'd love to share the whole list with you if interested.

Talk to your dr or nutritionist. I was having the same problem and found that I wasn't getting in enough calories. I was eating around 1000 to 1200 calories a day. With my height weight and daily exercise I should have been eating 1500 to 1700 depending on how hard I worked out. So I embraced it (it was really hard to eat that much, physically and psychologically) upped my calories and the weight started falling off again. I think we spend so much time focusing on low cal diets while we're heavy that we forget that we need to adjust our lifestyle for our new bodies. Good luck! Don't give up

Protein-60 plus

Carbs-Max 60

Fat-Max 20

Calories-700

What the what? How far out from surgery are you? Only 60 grams of Protein and only 700 calories? That is nuts if you are like a year out!

Calories-700

At 6 or 7 weeks out like you, 700 calories is acceptable.

At 1 year out, 700 calories is NOT acceptable.

This Wednesday I will be 5 weeks out.

I have a nut meeting in 1.5 weeks and will go up to 70 grams of Protein then.

I am by no means a nutritionist, but if the poster is having issues losing weight it might be too many calories.

Ah, okay. That's relief. The OP is a year out so NO WAY should she be on only 700 calories a day. At 5 weeks that makes MUCH more sense!

Having never been a year out I am obviously not in the know here...

That being said, what is the difference in caloric intake between 5 weeks and one year if you are still trying to lose weight?

The issue is the impact long-term, massive calorie deficits have on the endocrine system. Think permanent thyroid hormone dysregulation...resistance to satiety hormones...super-efficient energy storage. Our bodies aren't stupid. If you starve them long enough, they fight back. They'll take energy from all kinds of places we don't want them taking it to preserve essential functions - like breaking down muscle tissue to preserve energy stores. Can be a pretty big deal when the muscle tissues that are left include important ones like the heart.

      Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

        I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
