Well that's awesome!!! I wasexcited as well until I found out today that my insurance won't cover it and I don't have any other means. So needless to say I'm glad someone else has some good news to report.

Good Luck!!

Hi Vicki, how are you feeling today? Looks like it's been a few days now. How is it going? Remember to take it easy and heal right now. It's not about weight loss yet :-) Let us know how you are feeling, ok?

Holly

HI Vicki, hope all is going good for you. I was banded july 24, 2007 and this is my fourth day out and it seems to be alot better than yesterday. So when you read it gets better by the day, that's right!!! I haven't had the gas pains just incision and port pain. Well just wanted to wish you a healthy and speedy recovery.

Vicky, how are you doing? I had my Lapband Surgery on 7/24/07. I'm sore, but getting better daily. Since 7/13 when put on special high-protein food supplements I now have lost 15 lbs, which I think is great. Had to see Dr. on 7/26 for infection at port wound site, but that is now clearing with the two antibiotics he prescribed. Would like to know how you are doing. Talk with you soon, Debra

Thanks for welcoming me. I have lost about 10 pounds so far. Still sore with gas pains. One of my incesions bled alot but it has stopped. Cannot wait to take off the strips and see them myself. But I do feel good. I'm walking to post office and bank. Anything to get moving.

I'm new just tonite to this site. Hope I'm doing things correctly! I'm not much of a computer chatter!

I had my LB on 7/19/07. I'm doing okay but I have questions about what exactly I can eat at this point.....will see Dr. Collier/Conroe, Texas tomorrow......should clarify things then. I started on a Protein Drink 2 1/2 weeks before the surger & lost 11 lbs. I think I'm down another 9 since the 19th. I really want to eat some mexican food and pizza!

Cyndiet- I was banded on July 24 and I have to be on 2 weeks liqiud. Anything I can blend and it can fit through a straw. 3 protien drinks a day. And then pureed/soft food for 1-2 weeks. Every DR. is different so the best thing is to ask, but from the ones I read on here that sounds pretty normal. Good Luck!!!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
