My leak test was exactly 24hrs after surgery and the contrast that u have to drink is beyond disgusting. They approved me to drink tho within an hr

They didn't allow me to shower so honestly all I used was the clothes I wore there and a hair brush. Everything else could've been left home

No shower here either. I brought 2 piece pj's to wear, mouth spray, my tablet and phone. Don't forget phone charger. I had the leak test the following day, 24 hours later and then I could drink. My main problem was my oxygen levels, too low ,so I had to sleep with a cpap the first night.

If your look at my picture i posted a few days ago i have extremely long hair...my co worker gonna braid it for me. Ill wear a bandana to keep it nice...so i wont need to wash my hair...i can NOT have a shower this gonna suck...but you can sponge bath right? I have a cpap machine now so i am debating to bring it with me. Yup phone is for sure, chap stick, gas strips etc...i actually live down the street from the hospital so even if i forgot something no big deal....

Hi I'm new here. I am having my surgery at Mt Auburn on April 4th by Dr Shah. Margie122 I think I was at immersion day with your mom and you in December.

I have a couple questions. Why can't you shower in hospital? I have sleep apnea so will I need to bring my own machine? What else is a must have at hospital?

Usually you can shower as long as the doctor writes an order for it, I really wasn't up to it on the day after surgery then the next day I wanted one but she hadn't written an order, I didn't push it because I was going home that day.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
