As the first night of this post draws to a close, I am hopeful in Christ Jesus that everyone who has asked for prayers will be lifted up to show us His glory. When I break open my prayer notebook (12 each year, 1 for each month), write Colossians 1:9-14. Where it says "you," I insert names of my kids, wife, and those I am praying for. I am humbled to pray for you all tonight and ongoing this week as we go forth into the New Year. God bless you all.

Thank you I appreciate it and I will pray for you as well!! I'm going into my 4th week post op and although things have been going ok, it is still rough!!!! It is a lifestyle change that is so mentally tough! I pray for strength for everyone! food was my drug and I abused it and it made me feel good and bad. And I miss it, but each day does get a little better.

Thank you so much for this! My husband lost his job in October, so I wasn't even sure my surgery was going to happen! Thankfully we were able to pay for COBRA coverage and keep our deductible we had met. He has never been unemployed in the 27 years we've been together, and this is putting a strain on us mentally and financially. We have two adult sons and our daughter is a senior in high school. College is taken care of thanks to the El Dorado Promise (and his former employer), but day to day it is a struggle. I am working, and was able to go back 8 days post-op thankfully. We have been so blessed I know God has something special for us - the waiting is hard though.

Praise God for this not me Seahawks Fan. I know what I needed when I went through this. It wasn't just for surgery times either. Times get tough all the time right? Even after surgery, we just feel defeated with skin, people talking, etc. So knowing that others are there in prayer, even if they don't know us, it is even more so appreciated. I hope things are going well for you as I see your current weight is under your goal, so awesome job. Happy New Year.

Prayer is needed my surgery is tomorrow and I'm nervous!

Luvkoko, hope all went well with your surgery today. Can't wait for you to get home and remember, the next week or two will be the toughest you probably will ever face with the new change. Keep focused and when you feel that urge to do something that we shouldn't do, like eat something bad, get in the Word. It will be literally like fasting. YOU GOT THIS. This is one thing we can say, man or woman, We've all been where you are at.

LOVE Dave Ramsey! Thank you for the verses. Sometimes it just takes someone else reminding you that you aren't alone...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
