Any 12/21/15 sleevers: How are you doing?

Recommended Posts

I have had the same horrible pinching in my lower right abdomen. It is an internal muscular pain that takes my breath away when sitting down and standing up. I see the doctor next week and hope he can explain what is going on. Other than that I feel fine, it's setting me back in my recovery and I can't even imagine going back to work yet.

40 since 12/13 and 23 since being sleeved on 12/23. My clothes actually fit.... ;p

Went out to dinner last night with my wife and had a bowl of cream Soup. It wasn't real large and I ate maybe 2/3rd. I think I ate too much and felt lousy for an hour... Be careful if u eat out. Measuring is hard to do...

what mixes have you found that help tolerate the capsules we have to break open and the nasty tasting meds we must take. I'm still in my first 7 days so I'm still liquids only and having difficulty taking the actigall and stool softener as they taste horrible even trying holding my nose. I have tried chocolate Protein Powder and milk. I have tried Water and actigall. I have tried crystal light lemonade and actigall all tasted nasty except the crystal light because I mixed to much with the actigall and ended up with 6 oz. to try drinking to get it all so it was to much for my poor small stomach.

so what have you others tried and what have you found to work

Had my sleeve surgery on 12/15/15- it has gone well! I am still sore on the left side- I also had a lap band removed with the surgery and have one surgical site that is bigger and area more sore but otherwise doing well. I am tolerating 48 to 64 oz of fluids with no problem and I am starting to reach my Protein goal of 70-80 grams.

I can eat cottage cheese and refried Beans have been good. Otherwise using Protein Shakes. I am down 14lbs since surgery and feel pretty good. went back to work today, Hope the success continues

Hello everyone. I was sleeved on 12/28-I hate to come to the post and appear negative but I feel awful on some days. I can't seem to get all of my Protein and Water down due to the excruciating pain from the gas. And it feels like I can feel literally every beat of my heart in my chest and throat area. I'm feeling shaky and just overall exhausted. Again this isn't meant to be a negative post but I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing some of the same. One day I got so depressed about it all I had regrets about getting the sleeve in the first place. Somebody, anybody chime in and let me know I'm not alone here.

Mine was on 12/29! And I've been feeling the same way! I can hardly get any fluids done without horrible stomach spasms & pain!!!!! I feel hungry & keep asking myself why I did this?!?!?! Im even dreaming of food!!!

I believe most of us go through this. We feel some regrets but it is worth it. This surgery is a life changer. I am 2 weeks post op and still get similar symptoms.

I feel much better about my decision when I am exercising without getting exhausted after the first minute and a half. You will feel more in control of your body and your life as soon as you see the extra bounds going away.

Mine was 12/22 and I am just yesterday feeling "normal". I was beginning to despair because I was exhausted just walking across the room. I still have some gas pains from eating and drinking, but I'm learning that it's often the position I'm in. Hang in there! I promise it gets better!!! I had food dreams too, and still do. I don't feel hungry though, just BAD head hunger. I'm considering, when life is more predictable, going to overeaters anonymous to help with this. Good luck, you can do this!

Feeling Good in Week 2!

Finally getting some stamina back and not exhausted from simple tasks.

Broke out in this ungodly rash on my abdomen and thighs--not near my incisions. I've read it can be a ketosis rash which makes sense. Going to try some Benadryl cream.

Going back to work today and looking forward to it!

Down 15lbs since surgery and 28lbs since preop surgery. Looking forward to my "weigh in" every Monday.

Follow up appointment with my surgeon is Thursday. What should I expect? Any questions I should be asking him?

Happy 2 weeks everyone!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
