Psych eval tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

Ok so tomorrow is the Big day!! Well 1 of many lol. I told my boss if I don't come back they put me in a white coat and locked me up lol.

I'm not too worried about it now, the Hosp called and said I would talk to the Psych for 15-30 min then take a test 150 questions. Now that I kinda know what I will be doing I'm not worried, its the unknown that gets me

Anyway haven't been on lately just trying to keep my bp down for PCP today and wanted to write and chat. So to all that read this have a great Monday and if your getting surgery today...YOU WILL DO GREAT!!

My psych eval was a face-to-face interview for about 20 minutes. She was mostly concerned about eating disorders and family history of eating disorders and obesity. She asked about who would be supportive and who would discouraging and did I feel emotionally strong enough to stand my ground in the face of resistance.

We talked about my willingness to follow my team's direction, and the pre-op and post-op diet process. She asked about why I wanted the surgery and what success or failures I had before deciding on surgery.

All in all, it was painless and I was approved with any trouble. I just had a two-year follow-up interview last week, and she mostly was concerned about the same things: compliance and results to date. Again, about 20 minutes.

My psych eval was 5 min, he asked me a few questions. Talked to me about the surgery and sent me on my way.

Wow! Your evals were quick! Mine was at least an hour. I gave a lot of info about weight history which has been pretty up and down over the years so maybe that's why.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
