Yay! I'm doing well. Home now. Surgery was on Monday. Came home Thursday. I need to stay on top of the pain meds AND try to kick this cold. Been doing liquids mostly, though I've got a freezer stocked with purees. NEXT WEEK!!!

It's been four days since my surgery. I have been home since Thursday. Today was the only day I woke up in a little bit of pain but not much. It has been harder than I thought it would be to take in the required liquids and such, but I'm doing it. Kinda get this reflux thing when my new stomach is empty and its hungry. Lol It like the plant from Little Shop of Horrors; "Feed me Seymour"! I hope everyone is doing well.

Did your doctor prescribe you any sort of reflux medicine? If not, you might want to call them. I like it! Your sleeve is officially the Audrey 2!

No he didn't. It's not terribly bad. If it persists I will ask him at my follow up appointment next week. It really only happens when "Audrey" is hungry lol

How are February 1st folks doing?

I can't believe it is now Feb 28th. =) Somehow the past week my little aches and pains have been so minimal it's been wonderful! I had a concern last week as well, we did another leak test in my Dr.s office and i was fine. Might have been a pulled muscle. All the odd things I've felt have been interesting.

I developed a canker sore on the inside of my jaw, my dentist seems to think it may have been an abrasion from inutbation, that I just didn't notice until now. I was not exactly regular with the dental hygiene most nights as I wasn't eating and I only swished. Bad, Bad, me. Anyone else get a sore from intubation? So that's about it.

I graduated to soft foods and find those new sensations interesting. I too had "hunger" sensations about a week after surgery, mostly when I drank Water.

How's it going? How are you eating? What sensations are you experiencing? (Sorry I'm a long talker)

Hey my fellow Feb 1 sister!!! Glad you're doing well!!! My whole throat was messed up from intubation. I think my anesthesiologist scraped it by mistake - it hurt more than anything, even the incisions.

I've progressed to soft foods so I'm mainly eating Soups, Greek yogurt, eggs, fish, Popsicles and Protein Shakes. I'm allowed other things but I like to keep it simple. What about you? Come back to our feb 1 thread! We miss you! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
