Too cold to google :)

I know being cold is one of the after affects of surgery. I assumed it was something that would happen later on, after a substantial weight loss. I'm 5 days out, 8 lbs down and freezing. Is this the coldness everyone warns about or am I being a baby about normal winter weather?

I have never had that issue. Last night I was sweating all night in bed. Frankly, I would welcome being cold.

I've been a freeze baby since surgery. 11/19. And it's 70 in December!! Can't imagine if it was a normal winter. Haha. I'm hoping it doesn't last.

Your coldness is residual from the crap they pumped into you during surgery. Anesthesia, etc. Your body is in shock and healing from surgery. It's normal. Bundle up and drink some hot chocolate with Protein powder!

I feel the cold so much more now than before. Now I wear gloves when I go out, I bought a very warm coat and have the heating on much earlier than I would. Isn't it a fact that your metabolism works harder when you are cold ;)

I am always cold and I am a year and a half post op. I sleep under an electric blanket, have a heated throw and bundle up constantly- by the way I live in Florida.

I am at Nine months, and I'm still very cold. However sometimes I do warm-up and I noticed that this is when I'm actually in a stall with my weight. So when I'm cold I lose when I warm I don't.

I'm very cold and I'm 8 days out. I use to be the one walking around the house and going outside in shorts. Lately it's been 60 degrees and I'm freezing.

My dr mentioned it at one month out about being less tolerant of cold now that I've lost weight--that it is a normal side effect..

oh my gosh, the last couple of days I have been shaking I was so cold. Last night I went to bed and had two blankets plus the bedspread on me. I was still cold so I went to the living room and got my electric throw blanket and put that on me too!!! I am always cold so nobody thinks twice about me walking around with a jacket in 100 degree weather, but wow....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
