How crabby I would be the first 3 months! It's finally getting better.

Interesting development...

I was sleeved on 1 Dec 2015. I'm down about 75 lbs today at almost 6 months.

Dealt with hair loss that started suddenly at the beginning of March and (mostly) stopped around the middle of May.

Now it's June and hot outside. I work a weekend job that has me walking in a large parking lot for 6-7 hours on Saturday and Sunday. I used to put away a couple of gallons of water/Gatorade easily.

Now I have a capacity problem. My sleeve lets me take in about 5 ounces at a time. I can tell I'm getting dehydrated, but I don't know what to do about it. I wear a Camelbak and alternate Water and diet Gatorade, but I'm still getting the headache and stupid feeling that warn me that I need more fluids.

I didn't anticipate this.

What’s the ONE thing you wished you knew before getting sleeved ? And how are you dealing with it....

How absolutely easy this was going to be......I wished I'd done this years ago.

Seriously.

I have zero complaints about anything related to the sleeve surgery.......liquid diet and all. Everything has been straightforward and within my ability to handle.

Yes I wish I knew that it wasn't going to be incredibly difficult. Once I made the mental commitment the rest was a piece of cake. I should have done this years ago

This is one of my greatest fears since I love to be outdoors and very active in the summer but I can't get the Water volume I need. Curious if anyone has any suggestions.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
