December 8th Sleevers......

Recommended Posts

I am on my way home. Full liquids for a week then I go back next Wednesday to get the drain removed. I hope you ladies get to go home soon.

Yikes! Drain? Is that normal?

For my doctor it is. He leaves a drain in for a week. It is a surgeon's preference. I am really having to learn this sleeve I drank too much too soon and feeling like crap.

Yes mine does. I wasn't allowed even a sip of Water until after the test. My drain comes out on Tues.

I could not have anything until my leak test was done, then had 2 oz broth and 2 0z Protein enriched Jello. Boy did that taste good. I hate to say it but my surgery went really good, did not have any gas paines or nauesa. My issue though is that when I swallow and the Fluid hits my stomach, it really feels strange, not a pleasant feeling. Happens with hot, cold and room temp Fluid. Hope this is something that the stomach will adjust to when healed.

@@heatherg17 hoping you get to go home tomorrow.

@@stepbill room temp works well with my stomach so far. FIJI Water really helps with my stomach because of the soft texture. I'm so excited for all of us and so much fun to share with my sleeve siblings.

Same on both counts. Pleased to report that liquids are going down better already, though! Hopefully your stomach will settle down for you soon, too - it's definitely helped with my Fluid intake today. I was a bit worried yesterday.

I had surgery 11/19 around noon. On 11/20, about 4pm (28 hours after surgery), I had an Upper GI test done to see if there were any leaks. The report came back after 10pm, and was surprised that I had Breakfast delivered at 7am. Jello, ready-made Protein shake, broth, and Decaf tea. I could only get the shake and tea down (in over an hour). Just too sore/full for the rest.

But I still remember my first liquid post-op was that horrid tasting crap for the leak test.

Makes sipping Water now a blessing!

Me too! This journey has been complex for me between the band erosion, gastric bleed, and now the revision. I feel for you but you are so totally safe in the hospital --lay back and heal.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am home and just trying to nail my Water goals. I know that it won't happen right away-just trying to avoid dehydration so I don't end up back in. It's such an odd sensation to not want to eat. I even went grocery shopping with my guy to stock up for the family and nothing looked appealing-crazy, I know! Normally I would've loaded the cart. The pain is slight, especially around the right side wound were stomach is pulled, but trying not to take anything because I am afraid of the nausea as well as being to tired to focus on my water/protein goals. Please keep in touch, it helps so much to have sleeve buddies going through the same situation at the same time....????

You went to the grocery store??? Wow--you're a rock star. I'm flat on my back still but I think by tomorrow I will be up more. Pain is much less today than yesterday. I ate some Campbell's Tomato Soup for lunch. It was warm and soothing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
