Queen-Sized NSV (Non-Scale Victory)

Recommended Posts

The bed, not the girl! We are just back from a four-day getaway and our beautifully-appointed hotel room had a Queen. Before weight loss? No way! For years it's had to be a King but no more. But now it was just fine. Oh, and I just hopped off the scale and did not gain a thing despite the fact that I ate deliciously-rich restaurant food (mostly French) -- those small portions really work. And I love it that now I can (and do) just stop. Now for some serious exercise (another NSV -- wanting to do it!).

Totally. It makes me feel really empowered to be eating hearty food and asking for to-go boxes every time. I feel like I am one of everybody else now...lamenting that the food is too much instead of clearing the whole plate in five minutes. I am not counting or measuring or restricting anything (except for straight carbs) and I am comfortably in the 1 lb/wk phase now.

Welcome back from your getaway!

Gobble gobble

I'm still paying penance for 2 helpings of pumpkin pie....ya. With the whipped cream...fabulous.

But you know, I got time. A month or two of keeping Water and Protein high

)exercise is a constant) and 2016 will be moving forward ... Into my tenth year of being banded...

Happy to be blessed with a certain constitution that takes foreign objects in stride????????

Lots of WLS patients have a hard time w/ the band.

I am happy to share my experiences with others.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
