How much do you eat at a meal at 2 months, 3 months

Recommended Posts

I was wondering how much everyone's Dr. or nut. is telling them to eat at a time during a meal. I was at 1/2 cup from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. I'm eating at 7 weeks 2/3 cup at a time of food. My Nut. wants me to be at 1 cup of food per meal by 3 months. Does this sound right? I thought I wouldn't be at 1 cup until at least 6 months. I do get full quicker with meats, but Soups, I believe I could eat more.

I think every program is different. I am only at 6 weeks, but my NUT just cleared me for 3 oz and told me to gradually increase to 1/2 cup by 4 months. I find I can only eat about 2 oz Protein and I add either some fruit or veggie (a bite ha ha). But she also has me eating more than 3 times a day which is hard.

That being said, I can eat about 1/2 cup Soup and chili is my favorite Soup right now.

@@miiasan I think you may be in the majority, I don't know why for me so much. I only eat 3x a day with 1 snack of a low fat mozzarella string cheese. I get 60 to 70g of Protein in with added premiere protein or unflavored protein every day along with 64oz Water. I'm satisfied so I think I will stay right here at 2/3 cup until 3 months then see what they think.

yeah, I wish I could eat that much at a time - then I could only eat 3 times a day! I would make my schedule a lot easier. I think eating the amount you do right now helps for a more balanced diet - I barely eat anything that is not Protein and I really miss fruit and veggies a lot. Hopefully by time I get to 1/2 I will be able to get those in to my satisfaction.

@@miiasan I miss my salads!! I can have it at 3 months. Gosh that must be hard having more than 3 meals a day having to wait 30min before & after, but it must be the only way to eat more right now. Everyone is different. I had the RNY.

Just hit my 5 months post op. Nut still has me at 3 meals a day 1/2C each. No snacking. Mostly each Protein each meal, at dinner maybe bite or 2 of vegie. 2 Centrum chewable a day. Bloodwork came back normal at checkup except having to add a super b complex vit each day.

@@nikkimapr Wow, seeing the feed back I'm getting, I think I will definitely stay at my 2/3 cup. Thank you for your response.

Just to shake things up, I'm at 1 cup of food at three months. So about 200 to 250 grams. With that being said, my pouch is a lot bigger than normal. It was made at 45ml rather than the normal 15 to 30ml. :-( Oh wells, thanks for the post! Its so nice to see what others are doing.

@@CocoBelle Thanks for letting me know that I'm not the only one being told to be at a cup at 3 months. I never was told how big my pouch is but I had the RNY. I think I will ask that at my next visit to Dr. Thank You for the feed back!

I'm at a half cup at 4 weeks. Strange how all programs are different. I see the surgeon and nut Thursday and will be sure to ask also.

I will surely let you know. I am also not "stuffed"at a half cup. Just comfortable for a couple hours.

I thought I was the only one! :-) I had RNY as well. But I think my doctor made it this size because during the consultation my husband mentioned that he was against bypass because of the size stomach I would be left with. The doctor quickly jumped back to say, that it wont be any smaller than the sleeve I had originally planned for. I only realized my size because the doctor gave me a letter for me to give to my primary physician.

My program is extremely strict. I'm at 1/4 a cup until almost 6 months. Then 6 months to a year in 1/2c. Then at a year I can have 1 cup.

I'm 10 weeks post op. Eat 3 times a day. No snacking. 75% of my meals have to be Proteins. And I'm still restricted on what I can eat. I'm basically still on soft food until 3 months I think. But no carbs until 6 months.

@@LoseItKacy Sounds like a good plan & what a lot of people are on except the 1/4 of cup after 2 months seems limited but our plans are all different. I think mine allowing me a cup at 3 months is way too much!! I'm staying at 2/3 cup for at least 6 months 3x a day. If my blood work shows different I will change. Oh I do have 1 snack a day of lowfat string cheese 50 cal. & 7 grams of Protein after I walk. I'm also staying away from carbs & all sugar.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
