ECHOCARDIOGRAM now needed after ekg this morning

Recommended Posts

Surgery scheduled 12/14/15.im 39, healthy besides being 288 pounds. I had kidney stone surgery in march, Surely i would have known by now if something is wrong with my heart. Im just scared that after all this work they are going to reschedule. Cancel. Whatever. I've put in a lot of time and work into this and i know im healthy. Did anyone else have this problem so close to surgery and were you able to get your surgery as scheduled? Thanks in advance. I'm trippin. Im looking forward to my brand new start and as of this morning thought all my pre op stuff was done. Grrr. Another bump in the road. Im sayin my prayers.

What was the problem with your EKG? I have A-fib and it didn't impact my surgery.

She didn't say. Just said that after getting my ekg back surgeon wants me to Have the echo. I guess im mostly stressed about time, being that everything has taken so long just to get scheduled. Hoping perhaps the drs office can work their magic with cardiology and get me in soon.

I had to have an echo after my ekg. They said my pulse was very fast so they wanted to check it out. My surgeon said that because this is basically elective surgery they check everything

I wouldn't be too concerned About them cancelling. If there is something wrong (fingers crossed you're okay) they just may bring in a cardio team to monitor as well during the surgery.

Hi I'm nearly 9 months post op sleeve this happened to me too I have AFib and I have to take meds for it I'm fine I had my surgery there wasn't an issue they are just covering their ass if u even have a minor issue and anything happens during surgery they don't want law suits increase in malpractice insurance or to screw up their statistics so try to calm down and wait to hear what's going on where I went it seemed standard for them to check for heart conditions as many ppl have them and don't know or haven't been diagnosed best of luck

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
