Happy New Year!! 2016 to be the best year ever! I'm finally 189 lbs after 3 long weeks. My New Year end celebration was very good, went out with my husband and I actually felt pretty and comfortable in my own skin. I only had half of a margarita not bad at all. attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1451661212.801507.jpg

Happy new year to you as well. You look amazing! We stayed in since we still have my mom. I'm sitting in the ER with her now as she's having some chest pains for 3 days now. I am at 201 today as I gained a pound overnight lol. But this week the scale will hopefully move into onederland. Have a great day!

Thanks. She ended up being fine. Only some anxiety, but better safe than sorry. She misses being home with her hubby and my niece. We are hoping that on 1/14/146 she is released for travel and she can go home. Thanks for the good juju.

Holding steady at 200 on the nose still. Guess this is a major stall for me. Had my 4 mos check up w the NUT. All my levels are great, added benefiber to the mix for bms. NUT is happy with my eating and weight loss. My exercise instructor is happy with my gym time, so overall a good day. I see the Dr in 10 days and I'm hoping to be down atleast 5 more lbs by then. Hope you are doing well.

Like I have mention in the past I could get myself in trouble with nuts, I don't know why but I craved them all the time. Before surgery I hardly ever had them maybe twice a year if that.

Well I went to Walmart yesterday and came across the PB2 Peanut Butter that I read in other posts, however I notice they had the PB2 with chocolate so I bought one and oh my God it's delicious I felt like I was having a treat (Reese's cup taste) and it only had 45 calories for two tablespoons, it was so good so I had to share it!! I attached a picture with calories info. post-260556-145202775922_thumb.jpg

You should try the chocolate one is really good and I'm not a chocolate person but the taste is really good.

I went back to work today after 2 week vacation and it went well.

Last two weeks I haven't tracked my food intake in my fitness pal and today I went and logged the info and let me tell you how important it is to log!! I went and logged everything after lunch today and I already had 798 calories which I thought I had consumed a lot less calories. I was very surprised????????.

I could easily see how much in trouble I could get if I don't track my food in the fitness pal app. I had a light dinner in order to stay in my calorie range.

Good morning @@lorri716 that is great that you are seeing the scale move, good job. I haven't weighed myself this past 4 days. My little boy took the scale to his room and I don't want to weigh myself after I'm dressed cause the weight will be more and don't want to disappoint myself :)

Job has been good, it's nice to get back to my routine, however I missed not being at home. It was nice to go to sleep later and not waking up to early.

My exercise - well I been keeping up with the walking every night, 50 min - 1 hr walk with my husband and the dog and they walk really fast so it's good. I'm lucky to have a husband that likes to be active he is the one that motivates me. I really need to start doing more, I enjoy the Taebo videos just have to get committed to do them at least 3 times a week.

My older son is back in College Station and my daughter is getting ready to start her college classes in another week.

I'm happy to hear your doing great on your weight loss! Have a good day and hope your mom is good.

Well I'm happy to say that I notice that my Hair loss has diminished. I still have some hair loss, but nothing compared to previous months. I will keep taking the Biotin and Silica pills. Also, my nails are stronger than ever. I had a very pretty manicure on New Years Day - first time every getting my nails colored red!!. I love them!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

I'm glad to hear that work is going good. Yes it does suck getting up early I agree. I'm a compulsive weigher lol. I even bought a new scale now I have one in my bedroom and in the bathroom. However the new one is weighing 8 oz heavier than the old one, and the old one is a pound heavier than the drs off lol. So I might actually be 195 lol. Oh well. I'm glad your Hair loss has slowed. I'm so glad that I didn't have any dramatic loss.

Oh my time goes by so fast! 5 months ago I had my sleeve surgery 8/10/2015 and I don't regret it one bit. It's been the best thing I have done for me.

It's a commitment and I knew since I had my surgery that the sleeve was only a tool and I have to put my effort to make it work. Weigh in today is 187 lbs and wearing a size14 in jeans and size large blouse compared to size 20-22 in pants and 2xl blouses.

I've lost a total of 66 lbs so far! I have another 37 lbs and if it takes another 5 to 7 months to get there I will be ok. post-260556-14524719515686_thumb.jpg

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
