Pre-op bingeing

I'm currently pre-op (3 appointments until I submit to insurance!) and lately I've been finding that I'm having binge episodes more often than previously. I've been working to get to the bottom of this and haven't come up with anything that completely makes sense to me. I'm wondering if anyone else experienced this or has any insight!

Thank you! I'd been thinking that it was me subconsciously having a "food funeral". Now that I see others obsess over food during pre-op it makes more sense that that's what I'm going through!

I think when we are preparing for wls, we start obsessing on food more than usual. There is a part of us that believes after wls we will never be able to eat good foods again (even though that is not true) and therefor we want to have the experience one last time so to speak....i also eat when I am nervous and before I had my surgery, I was extremely nervous about whether or not insurance was going to delay it, the pre-op diet and all the other hoops we had to jump thru... I don't know those are some of my theories.
