Just a little venting

I ditto the hugs sent your way. You deserve to be treated like the masterpiece you are and not any less. There will come a time when you will get tired of that treatment and I would hate to be either one of those two when you do.

I did not say give hubby a pass. I said Sophie should talk to him about it. I don't think it's helpful to fill her mind with even more problems until she knows for certain their is more to this than hubby being a clueless jerk--and he definitely behaved as a jerk towards her. That's why I put out an alternate theory. I do think the friend definitely wants something going on. Whether there is anything else is another story. She knows her husband, not us. Hubby should definitely be taken to task over his behavior. I also think she'll feel better if she speaks up for herself should she find herself in this situation again. Too often we're told not to make waves or bring attention to ourselves. Heck with that. Make a damn tsunami if he tries this again.

 I just put the situation to my often clueless hubby to see if I could gain insight. He said, "The guy's an idiot. You put the person you're supposed to spend your life with first." Mind you, after 34 years, he's well conversant in correct response (or fear of spouse, not sure which). Also said it's worrying (which we all agree) but only you know that for sure since you know what else is happening and what he's like. It's not proof there is anything more than disrespect (which is a worst problem IMO).

You need to ask yourself what a definition of a friend is? She should be someone who encourages you on your journey barracking on the sidelines for doing well. This woman is no friend. Also showing you up in front of your husband like this not good. Next time if there is a next time take control and you request the table that you want. You're in control of your wls so being in control of your surroundings is allowed to. Your husband will respect you more I am sure.

Solution is actually pretty easy. Next time hubby wants a little 'romance time' cut him off and tell him to go check a local booth for love.

@@Sophie74656 Have things gotten better? I hope you stand your ground and don't let them push you around. My friends say i have a huge set (balls) ... They just so happen to sit on my chest... It's funny how i can stand my ground with most anyone except my husband..... But that is changing....

So why do you call this person your friend? No friend of mine would ever do something like that to me.

This⬆️

Doesn't sound like much of a friend. ????????????

Also, I would be pissed if my husband dismissed my feelings like...

My ex wife was the queen of cutting me off over perceived slights even imaginary stuff, hell the weather was enough to turn her off, in fact the orientation of the cat laying on the floor may have even caused her to get turned off (poor cat). I learned from the master mwahahhahaha

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
