help! I cant eat or drink liquids 2.5 weeks post lap band removal

Recommended Posts

I just recently got my lap band removed October 27th 2015 (2.5 weeks ago) and STILL CAN NOT eat solid foods. Water barely goes down! the first week I could barely drink HOT liquids. & I was hospitalized for dehydration. I had my band removed because It was way to TIGHT! with a slight inflamed esophegus (due to throwing up) and the band is OUT now and STILL throwing up constantly. some days are good and I can eat mushies and Soups but majority of the days are horrible I throw up water and coffee first thing in the morninng, as the day progresses it seems to open up more at night and i can eat a little bit. Does any body else have this problem? My surgeon wants to scope the stomach- they send a camera down and a balloon and blow it up to open the stomach back up?? please help

I'm so sorry for your difficulties nikki. Unfortunately we can't help you but it sound like your surgeon can. Good luck and let us know what's happened.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
