My port was completely flipped around (the first month I had the band). They didn't catch it till 5 months out though.

My port was just above my belly button.. due to the flip, my doctor moved it to the hard spot between my breasts, and 'extra' stitched it. He said from now on, all of his patients he will be putting the port between the breasts on the hard spot. He said there's no way to know what caused it, but he thought where it was, was too soft and moved a lot, etc. So now it doesn't move. I can feel it perfectly too, the top, sides, etc. It's right under the skin.

I had my revision yesterday! They removed the old port and replaced it with a new one. I am in more pain now than I was with the first initial surgery.

I hope this thing doesn't flip again. If it does, I'm done with this lapband experience.

arent you at all happy with the success of the port? wow, you must be in a lot of pain. I just think most of all are so jazzed about getting the surgery that we dont believe that things can go wrong with it too. thank u for sharing with us. good luck with your new port.

This surgery has been great and I really have not had any problems until this port flip ordeal. I didn't have restriction and really do not know what it feels like to PB, slime or any other of these lapband terms.

Right now at this moment, I feel that if this port flips again, I will probably have this device taken out of my body. I can understand a mishap once, but not twice.

I know that my port is not in the same place the Dr. put it. It may have flipped, I don't know. Every fill I have had has been under the florescope. I have lost 70 lbs and really don't have any problems. I was hoping to get it fixed when I have a Tummy Tuck. My insurance doesn't pay anything having to do with weight loss procedures. How much does it cost to have it put back in place? :help:

I have no idea how much it costs to re-flip it back. Sometimes the doctor can manuever it back into place in the office without surgery. In my case, it was detached and floating around. My insurance paid for it since it was another surgery with anesthesia and the whole nine yards.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
