Junies in Vegas 2008

Recommended Posts

I went for a conference last year and stayed at the Bally's hotel. It's mid-strip and I think it was fairly expensive. I didn't have any fun because I didn't know anyone there. I'm willing to go next year. Keep me updated.

I may be coming by myself as well...would be happy to room with someone. Monday-Wed would be fine by me...would give two full days before that to be with my kids. April is also fine...weather was nice this year when hubby and I went middle of April.

Sounds great, Suzzzie!! I can't believe we've been banded 2 months already...just wish the scale were moving faster for me, but I do see a difference when I look in the mirror...I need to remind myself to have my mom measure me in the morning when I drop off the kids.

Rhonda: What hotels did you check out? Do they have any room/show combos? There was so much I didn't get to see this year...it was our first time out there...

Count me in. I go to Vegas 4 times a year on average. For all you gamblers, the gambling really sucks early week. If you play for fun (pennies, nickels) it doesn't really matter. If you play tables or higher end slots, your odds are better on the weekend. I am in regardless.

I also would like to go to vegas. It don't really matter to me when or where just as long as I have no less than 12 weeks notice. I work offshore so it is hard to get time off in less I have so time. I also will be coming out alone so if anyone wants to room up and split cost I am down.

can't wait!

Me and my sister are interested in a Vegas trip. We are both banded and don't live far from Vegas.

Dan - We are planning to go to Dr. K's support group on Tuesday. Have you ever been to one? Let us know if you are planning to go.

How is everything going with you and your sis? how many fills have you had? I am going for fill number two one sept 4th at 1000.

Dan- Me and my sis are doing good. My sister has had two fills and I have had one. We are going to get another fill on Sept. 11th. Both of us have lost around 30 pounds. My sister has felt "a little" restriction with her 2nd fill. I haven't felt too much restriction. I'm definitely ready for another fill.

I read that you had a fun nite with beer and crab...... I am so tempted to drink a beer. I'll take a couple of sips from my hubby's beer and it goes down fine. Did you have any trouble when you drank beer?

Well, our appointments are a week apart. Maybe we will get on the same appointment schedule soon. Take care!

I know I am in the minority here, but if we could consider a weekend that would be GREAT....I would be coming solo and my Dh would be looking after our children. Thanks!

----Toni (I'd be so happy if I lost TWENTY pounds by Vegas!) :faint:

Ok I looked into different hotels. The best rates was on Harrahs on the strip. It is $179.00 a night on the weekend and $96.00 during the week. It is on the monorail and it is midstrip. I looked at the dates from April 4th through 9th for prices. So we need to decide when we want to go and how many of us are going. Also how many of us wants to share a room with some one else or wants their own room. I looked at Treasure Island it is all sold out already.

First I want to say that I appreciate you doing the hard work for us!!!

I'm definatly in!! April is fine for me, it doesn't matter what days or anything, as long as I can request them off from my job 30 days in advance. :)

I'm more than willing to share a room!! Especially if it's going to be that expensive! I've only ever stayed at Riviera and Sahara, and they were like $50 a night. Lol. But, in most cases you get what you pay for! I'll have to start playing at the local KC Harrahs and earn me some points (and hopefully some comp points I can use in Vegas!)

If you all are wanting to do a weekend checking in on Thur/Fri April 3-4 would be good. My little boy is on spring break the first wk of April and I could ship him off to my inlaws for that week and not have to worry about him! I would have to fly back on Sat night or Sun morning because of school yadda yadda. Just a reminder my hubby and I wont need a room we have a timeshare that we will be staying in and its the last thing on the south end of the strip hmm no biggy though we always get a car. Thank you so much Huntersmom for doing all the "leg work"!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
