Coffee and creamer

Recommended Posts

I love coffee but I waited until after 6 weeks to drink it. 4 days post op it might be too much acid for you.

The acid in coffee is a bigger concern than the caffeine that this point.

I think that is the only thing I'm gonna whining about... constantly - lack of coffee! :/

I wasn't allowed coffee until 30 days post-op. You might be better off going with tea this early. Acid is a real concern. I actually had an easier time with hot liquids in my early days than with room temp liquids. For me things either had to be hot or ICE cold to get down without immediately feeling overfull.

When I couldn't have coffee, I had this

every morning. It satisfied my need for the coffee taste and I got my Protein in.

Looking for variety, I keep reading the list of allowed liquids, and coffee is on there. I heard to avoid caffeine but I have never heard of the acid level in coffee, so thank you for that info!

At two weeks post op, Decaf coffee and tea is on my list of suggested stage 3 foods. I could not drink the entire cup though. I drank about 1/3, and I added some non-dairy Creamer.< /p>

I probably drink way more coffee than I should, which is probably one of the reasons I still have to take omeprazole daily, even though I'm 14 months out now. I can't help myself! I've already given up so much by having this surgery, I couldn't bring myself to give up coffee too! Though I was a good girl and didn't drink any coffee those first 30 days post-op. I started out with one cup a day with lots of cream at the 30 day mark. But now I'm back up to 3 cups a day, sometimes 4!

I'm the same way, Jamie! And on top of that, I drink it with that terrible for us flavored creamer! But I've still lost weight doing it from almost day 1 (well a month out) because I add it to MFP, so there!

I try to limit to 2 cups, and I did for a whole year. But i'm slowly sneaking in another cup every once in a while. I can't have chocolate, so a girl has to have SOME vices!

I was allowed Decaf on full liquids. I used vanilla Protein powder instead of creamer. I used a coffee warmer USB to keep it hot.

I drink my morning cup of coffee with an ounce of a ready-to-drink Protein shake or light vanilla almond milk, and either a half packet of stevia or a dollop of one of the Torani sugar-free syrups.

That is basically how I feel. I have given up everything. I am not giving up coffee. I don't care about alcohol or soda, but coffee, I can't live without.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
