Pre-Op Really Really Tired!

Recommended Posts

I started my 2-week pre-op diet on Thursday:

A.M.: pick two of the following: fruit, Cereal, oatmeal, egg, toast

Noon: Protein Shake (may use milk/soy milk and add fruit for taste)

Dinner: one serving lean meat and one serving green vegetables

P.M. Snack: another Protein shake

I am sooooooo tired. :notagree All I want to do is sleep! Is this normal? I am also still taking my regular multiple Vitamins.< /p>

Jenny- I started my pre-op diet today. WOW you get alot I get 4-5 Protein Shakes a day and every other day get a 4 oz piece of chicken or fish for 10 days. I was so tired today. I don't know if I was just tired or if it's because no calories, ect., I'm sur eit's the no calorie thing.

Good luck!!! I'm being banded July 24.

I start my pre-op diet in the morning. For the first week I get two Protein shakes a day and a reasonable dinner (200 calories and 20 grams of protein). The second week is 4 to 5 Protein Shakes a day. I get banded on 7/30/07. I was hoping I wouldn't get tired. YOu know how sometimes when you're on a diet the second or third day you get your second wind? I'm hoping that happens with me. I've taken off work from Monday to Wednesday this week. My pre-op is Wednesday.

Goodluck!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
