I bought a long stick scrubber with a loofah on the end. It worked pretty well for the hard to reach areas. Otherwise, you may just have to be a little dirty for a few days until you can bend.

Hand held shower head and my husband's help (that was very embarrassing!!!)...At the least (after looking at your age...doubt you are married), you could have someone in the bathroom with you handing you things...

Good luck!

Wrap your mid section real good in plastic wrap and you should be OK. That's what I did and it worked out well and didn't need assistance from anyone.

I was allowed to shower the first day out, but I could only let Water go over my stomach. No soap or anything, and not for very long. That being the case, probably you could use the shower to give your hair a wash, but you probably shouldn't be doing too much else for the first couple of days anyway.

Another thing I did was take a bath, but the Water wasn't high enough to hit my stomach. It felt good to soak a little.

My doctor told me to wait 24 hours to shower. The first time I showered, I did the plastic wrap around the stomach. It worked pretty well. It also seemed to add a little cushion around the incisions so the Water didn't hit them directly. Also, don't try to bend at the stomach. Act like you are going to lift something heavy and kind of squat down at the knees to get something

I need to shower today. I am feeling gross. I had my surgery Tuesday and it is Friday and I need to bathe! I am going to plastic wrap and use my hand held shower (I use it anyway!) and wash my hair. I can't wait to feel the water; it is going to feel so good.

You probably don't need to wrap yourself. I didn't. Those wounds are closed up okay. I don't know if I would envelope myself in soap at this point, but Water running down your front shouldn't be a biggie...the most it will do is get the steri-strips wet, and that didn't seem to inhibit their sticking ability at all. Trying to keep your midsection from getting wet would be a logistical nightmare that isn't worth it.

I took a shower today and it was awesome! It felt so great to wash my hair. I put saran wrap over my stomach but I realized they put some kind of waterproof tape over the incisions already so I was just being extra cautious. Showering is so good!! ;)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
