I'm on my 7 month journey. Had my first weigh in on Sept. 21st. When I first saw him in March 2015 he seemed to push more towards the band because he has had it done. But I chose RNY because of my families history with diabetes. I have PCOS and very rarely have my period. Maybe 3-4 times a year. My husband and I have actively tried to get pregnant. But my weight keeps getting in the way. Anywho. I'm from Albertville and I have BCBS of AL. I've done a lot of research and I feel RNY is going to suit me best. I was wondering if anyone else in this area has had this done with Dr. GROVES. He said he would ultimately do whichever surgery I wanted. Which made me feel great. Also I have no co morbities. But my BMI is 60. So I'm really hoping I will get approved! I would be heartbroken if I were to be denied! I work graveyard shift so please bare with me if I do not reply in a timely manner. Or if I seem to reply in the weeee hours of the morning.
Any friends would be great! Like I said I'm a newbie and I need all the support I can get. Unfortunately I've already run into people who have told me to stay away from surgery. But they don't understand what I've gone through my entire life. It's hard to share with others when all they want to do it tell me what I already know. Anywho. Feel free to share anything with me. I'm usually an open book! Thanks y'all!
