Has anyone ever had this insurance? Curious how long approval is and if there is 3 month period..

From what I hear, there's a six month physician supervised weight loss period required. Which actually involves 7 monthly visits. Your surgeon's office should be very well informed on all the hoops bcbsal requires!

I have BCBS of AL and had to do a 6-month supervised diet. My surgeon's office submitted my paperwork online Monday and I was approved instantly. I'm not sure if all offices can do the electronic approval. The insurance company has 30 days to make a decision if the paperwork is submitted by mail or fax.
