I'm a lapband to sleeve on October 5, 2015, i am four days post op and

I'm fatigued and am having a little bit of shortness of breath. I talked with my doctor this morning he is not concerned right now about the SOB he thinks it's part of my fatigue since I'm not having any chest pain and I can deep breathe without any problems does anybody else feel this way?

I am fatigued and have some shortness of breath also. Not too bad. I just can't quite get in all the calories that I'm supposed to. I feel like I'm eating or sipping all day and I'm only in the 300 calorie range. Yesterday was in the 200s. So maybe tomorrow will be even better. Hang in there! Everyday will be better than the last. That's what I keep telling myself.

I am fatigued also. I get Soups on Monday. Hope that helps. After we can ad pureed foods it will help. Hang in there I have been told the energy level will go thru the roof after foods are introduced

I with you all - shortness of breath (especially bad, since I live in the Colorado mountains at about 10,000 feet!), exhaustion and general weakness. Also lots of gas.

My puree/full liquid starts Tuesday, and I can't wait. First thing for me will be the "watery mashed potatoes" they offer in the Kaiser manual - I suspect it'll taste like a dream. About the only real flavor I've been getting is from the low sodium broths I bought, but those are not very fun to eat.

Has anyone else notice the outrageous sodium content on most broths? I would have never noticed...

Drank to much broth and it doubled me over. How about you?

Not yet, but close. I was too anxious to get some flavor in my mouth, and ended up gulping too much. The Large Bubble Of Gas (think Godzilla-sized) made itself known, and I had to walk around in a circle unless a window-rattler came out.

I'm starting to realize how much new stuff there is to learn.

I am on Monday as well....its going to be a long 5 days! I'm nervous but very anxious to get this part over with. All my pre-op stuff went well. They said I am "very healthy" and should come through this just fine. I thought "sure I'm healthy except for the whole morbid obesity thing!"

Yes I'm right there with you on the Morbidly Obese. Grrrr

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
