I am curious how many of us are employed/volunteer in a helping profession. I am a social worker in a level 1 trauma center and notice a lot of other social workers, RN's, medical staff and caregivers on these boards. I feel like I spend so much time helping others, supporting other and empowering others, when I really should be more empowering, helpful and supportive to myself and my needs.

Currently I'm an informatics nurse and the director of IT for a large homecare and hospice corporation. I always identify first as a nurse, and believe the work I do contributes to the care of many patients, as well as improves the work lives of the clinicians providing that care.

I am a Patient Financial Services Representative. That title has nothing to do with what I actually do.

I can't believe there's so many nurses! It does make sense that the majority on here spend their time and energy taking care of others. What a great topic!
