I am curious how many of us are employed/volunteer in a helping profession. I am a social worker in a level 1 trauma center and notice a lot of other social workers, RN's, medical staff and caregivers on these boards. I feel like I spend so much time helping others, supporting other and empowering others, when I really should be more empowering, helpful and supportive to myself and my needs.

I am an attorney. I find myself giving to everyone who can't pay and often going without myself. Well that is changing, While I will always have a heart for others, In December 2015, I decided to think about my own health. I'm scheduled for the gastric sleeve in 3 days and I am so very happy about that.

I am travelling to Tijuana for the procedure and I am also getting long overdue dental work and vascular work done. I had Blue Cross Blue Shield and it did not cover anything... after all those premiums. Wow!!! I just happened to have the WRONG plan.
